Apple Butter, the Flavor Of Fall

Making apple butter in the fall is a refrain that I have heard my entire life. Each fall, my great grandmother would bring out her apple butter kettle and the community would come together to stir the apples over a fire until the apple butter was just right. It was an enormous black cast iron kettle! Today, it is long gone (in fact, I never even saw it) but the fall ritual of apple butter remains, welcoming us into the crisp air and delicious tastes of fall with family and friends. For a taste, assuming you don’t have an apple butter kettle either, Grave’s Mountain Lodge Apple Butter should do the trick – delicious apple- cinnamon goodness that goes perfectly on homemade white bread with butter. Welcome to fall!
