Halloween Movie Spectacular!

With a little ingenuity, you can create an outdoor movie experience for your tweens and teens and celebrate the fun side of Halloween, with spooky treats and costumes and more! We used our wooden swingset frame and stapled a large piece of white black-out lining to the swingset for a movie frame and then muscled out our antique video projector (just like the one they always had in the Disney stores) wired to a DVD player and speakers. Decorate with all of your favorite Halloween decorations. We had a black cat made of pumpkins, a candy corn wreath on the front door (but, note, honeybees LOVE candy corn and after a few days you will have a honeybee wreath, no kidding, they pack themselves on tightly as they devour the colorful sugar candies), glow in the dark cobwebs, a stuffed spider, raven, crow, and rat, plus a skeleton and a flower garden filled with scary tombstones. Set up your playlist (Monster Mash, Thriller, and Witchy Woman are good for starters). Add some lawn chairs, some guests, and a tent filled with a spooky dinner buffet and you are set (don’t forget the bubbling punch made with dry ice and the hot mulled cider for warming up). Just be sure to have plenty of blankets and glow sticks, as it can get a little chilly and really dark by the end of the movie.
